Immaterials: Light painting WiFi

Here is a great use of long exposure photos and a wifi sginal, the idea for this work stems from the fact that all of use in our daily lives are surrounded by a mas of invisible information transactions be it radio, infer red or in the case of this project Wifi.
So how do you show this world of invisable information? A question that intreaged the creators of this video Timo Arnall, Jørn Knutsen and Einar Sneve Martinussen, in which they have created a light based wifi measuring rod, with 80 points of light each responding in turn to the signal strength of the wifi hotspot. With this ready the team went out on to the streets and connected the light stick up to a near by wifi hotspot and away they went.

The product of the video you can watch below consisted of many long exposure photos, with a technique called Light Painting.
